A Weekend of Wellness & Wine

October 11–13, 2019

Los Alamos, California

Get away from the everyday with our signature Jette Sette experience, Wellness Weekends. Taking you to a selection of my favorite California haunts, we’ll immerse you in the sights and tastes of the Santa Ynez Valley, resetting your body, mind and soul.

Partake in two intimate Pilates classes, hike the valley’s rolling hills, and meet the magical Lisa Gainsley of The Lymphatic Message. Sharing her insights on the detoxification system, she’ll guide a workshop on lymphatic massage. Dine at French bistro, Bell’s, home of Per Se alum and renowned chef, Daisy Ryan, and taste the valley’s finest grapes at Spear Winery.

When you’re not toning your body or indulging your taste buds, kick back in an eclectic corner of Skyview Los Alamos’ mid-century architecture. Born from an iconic roadside motel, Skyview will be our stomping ground for the weekend. Gather round the pool or private fire pits and take in views of the valley, borrow a Linus bike for a quick jaunt into town, or slip away for an outdoor shower. This is your time to rest, reset and reconnect—to yourself and each other.

The Setting

Los Alamos was founded in 1876 by two ranchers, John S. Bell and Dr. James Barron Shaw, each donating part of their land to create the town site. Named Los Alamos, Spanish for “the cottonwoods” that still grace the area, it looks and feels vintage yet with a burgeoning food, wine, and arts scene. The town is surrounded by ranches, farms and vineyards at the northern “entry” to the Santa Ynez Valley, Los Alamos (population 1,890) is located at the junction of US Highway 101 and State Route 135 (the main thoroughfare known as Bell Street). It’s only seven blocks long yet reflects as much Old West heritage as any small town on California’s Central Coast.

Skyview Motel is an iconic roadside motel turned boutique luxury, offering 33 guest rooms, a full-service restaurant, heated pool and a working vineyard. Perched on a hillside overlooking Santa Barbara wine country, the 5 acre outpost merges mid century style with modern rustic chic.

Throughout the hotel, original mid century architecture has been enhanced with a modern rustic aesthetic and luxury trimmings. The guest rooms have undergone a stem to stern renovation and feature hardwood floors, AC/heat, flat panel televisions, down duvets, leather club chairs and marble-clad bathrooms. Many rooms have indoor fireplaces and private patios with stunning wine country views.
